Fault Detection and Fault Control

Faulty processes can, like unreliable systems, lead to process stop and in some cases an unsafe working environment. Manual work is often required to detect the fault, which is time consuming and not economically beneficial. Varyc consults on and develops Fault Detection and Fault Control Systems which isolates faults and stabilizes the system, even when fault occurs. The following techniques must be considered when Fault Detection and Fault Control Systems are designed:

Modeling
A mathematical model of the process describes the behavior of the process. Varyc derives models based on physical and experimental modeling. The model is developed to run parallel with your process. When the model runs parallel with the process, filter technology and fault detection algorithms identify changes in the process that can lead to fault and potential process stop.

Fault Isolation
A distinction is made between actuator, process, and sensor faults. Varyc consults on and designs Fault Detection Technologies which can identify whether the fault is caused by the actuator, process, or sensors, and then compensates for the faulty behavior so that process stop is prevented.

Prediction
With advanced modeling and modern control techniques, faults can be predicted before they occur. Varyc consults on and develops Fault Control Systems that work parallel with your process and monitors and predict the process development. Before potential faults occur, the Fault Control System will prevent it by changing the structure of the control system.
